Small Work

These small oil-on-canvas abstractions derive from my earlier calligraphic works and invite a comparison with the figurative work. Though opposite in scale, hue and subject matter, in both there is a flow of line that captures space. These line-forms have their own volume and architecture.

They receive light and cast shadow. As such they achieve figuration and find parallel in the unbroken contours of the large works connecting human and animal life.

Oil on canvas, sizes are 11”x14”, 10”x10’, and 9”x12”
