CALLIGRAPHY

Calligraphy is the underpinning of my investigations in art because it embodies a paradox between freedom and formality. The effort to produce a newborn letter every time, not merely a copy, means preserving the structure of the 

alphabet while releasing the kinetic elements of line in order to energize the text. Most of my work in this area is commission-based.
